About Me

My name is Spencer Toth and this is my blog, full of creations that I’ve made. Currently, I am a senior in high school in Michigan. I’ve lived here all my life and so far it has treated me just fine.

Woodworking has been my #1 hobby over the past few years and probably will remain that way. Woodworking allows me to express myself in a very unique way. It allows me to create something from basically nothing but part of a tree. It has always stumped me how someone can cut down a tree and use a piece of it to make almost anything -a chair, a bowl, a pen, a table, a boat, a foot stool, a house. The options are endless when it comes to woodworking and this allows my creativity to hit new levels.

There’s a quote I heard once and it sort of follows in the same direction of being creative and dreaming big.

“Don’t let anyone tell you the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon.” -Anonymous

Being creative and handy certainly work hand-in-hand. If you are creative your ideas will fire your handiness and vise-versa. It took me a while to realize this, and once i did.. I began designing and building furniture of all sorts. Woodworking is my passion. It allows me to be the person I want to be. I don’t have to worry about anything else (except slicing off a finger on the table saw). With this blog as a new way for me to meet others, I hope to expand my knowledge to others on woodworking as well as share what I already know. This is my way of reaching out to others who share a similar passion.

You may have noticed my blog posts on my quotes too. I also find a strong interest in being a motivational factor to others. The world we live in is a crazy and awe-inspiring object that we seem to overlook and take for granted. We need to appreciate the small things in life. I love helping others as much as I can and still wish I could do more.   That’s why, over these past few months, my friend and I have created a website dedicated to help recognize some of my classmates’ talents.  It isnt too much of anything yet, but it’s a start.  I feel everyone needs recognition in what they are good at.  So If you get a chance, swing my other site, SkeletonPath.   I’ve also learned that life is full of lessons but until we comprehend what it gives us, we wont learn anything.

I also have a knack for business and investing.  As a stock trader, I’m proud to say that I’ve been trading live for over 5 years.  I won’t consider stock trading as part of my career choice but more a security blanket for the future.  I was also involved in helping establish a non-profit organization, Falkin Investing.

That’s a little about me, now I’d love to learn about you! Feel free to contact me at spncr2@gmail.com.

*I send my thanks out to everyone who has helped me in this endeavor (woodworking) over the past few years. Their support and encouragement has helped me become the person I am today. And for that, I am truly thankful.

Hi — Your Grandma Marjorie sent this to me as she is so proud of your work — your work is beautiful, especially your new coffee table and I loved your cigar pen, as green is my favorite color. Marjorie is my Aunt, so we are related — remember I met you at her house several years ago when I was visiting her — I live in Topeka — also remember coming to your house at that time. You are on your way to a wonderful life with all your neat thoughts and beautiful woodworking. vf

    Spence,

Your woodworking is awesome! You have a wonderful talent, I’m almost embarrassed I had you working on my cracked ceilings. I knew it would be a job well done, I guess it wasn’t the best use of your talent, but a very good display of your character. I don’t have to wait until your rich and famous to say I knew you, I’m proud to say it now. You have a exciting future.

Spence, I work with your aunt Donna and often admire her creative jewelry that she makes and wears to work. It seems she never runs out of new items! Anyway, she sent me your site link and I have to say that you do really fine work and to keep it up. My buddy and I love cigars and humidors – he has his eye on one that is a replica of the White House. If I get a picture, I’ll send it – just thinking that creative humidors may be something to consider. At any rate, I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes by Henry Ford, “Whether you think that you can, or that you can’t, you are usually right.”
