Bowl-Segmented

Here are a few pictures of segmented bowls. The name and where it originates is fairly obvious. Made of cherry and walnut with a danish oil finish, this is my favorite bowl. The angles got a little complex on the bottom layer. (There is a total of 5 layers including the bottom). 45 degrees, 22.5 degrees. A very precise miter saw is a necessity on a project like this. Overall, i’m more than happy on how this turned out.

The hardest part of this bowl was trying to center the bottom row onto the faceplacte. If it wasn’t centered, by the time I would be done turning it the cherry ring at the bottom would be totally off center and very noticeable. Luckily I was barely off. Whew!
