Pedestal Table
Watching Norm Abram on tv got me interested in a pedestal table. I designed and built this one mainly because I wanted to try the sliding dovetails for the legs.
The table is made of white oak. The table top consists of a white oak border, maple, and black walnut.
People ask me all the time what the walnut plugs are for and if they help hold on the legs with some sort of screw or something… But no, they are just there b/c when I was building the table I thought it needed something there. It looked blah to me. It’s amazing what little detail like that can add to the over all product.. : )
-If you look at my title/header, you’ll notice it’s a picture of me turning this pedestal on the lathe.-
